South Africa’s longevity industry has been shaped by pioneering individuals whose vision, dedication and perseverance have helped define it, influence it and drive its growth. In our 2026/27 annual print edition, we celebrate the people, the icons, visionaries and trailblazers who have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the longevity landscape.
What makes a Longevity Icon, Visionary or Trailblazer?
The upcoming edition of Longevity is published in print in South Africa and available internationally through the Zinio digital newsstand. In it, we honour the icons, visionaries and trailblazers who have shaped South Africa’s wellness industry over the past 25 years.
This is the first time we have published this recognition. It draws on more than three decades of publishing and close engagement with the industry.
The criteria we considered:
- A proven track record sustained over time
- A distinctive contribution to the field
- Education and awareness: helping the public understand longevity and wellness
- A respected reputation among peers and clients
- Service to the longevity community: influence through compassionate work and meaningful contribution
Three categories of recognition, from icons to trailblazers
Each person featured has contributed to South Africa’s longevity landscape in their own distinctive way. For that reason, they are presented in alphabetical order rather than ranked, as a celebration of their commitment, innovation, knowledge and service. All of them remain active in their professions today.
