Did you know that purple is the color of royalty? Personally, I enjoy it because it also represents independence, mystery, pride, and magic. With so many regnant terms associated with the color purple, it’s no wonder that the luxury fragrance brand The House of Creed used a purple bottle to hold their latest scent; Queen of Silk.

Queen of Silk: A Regal Scent

I’ll admit that upon spritzing the Queen of Silk on a fragrance tester strips that I was not impressed with the scent, as I found it to be too bold and quite overwhelming for a 30-year-old such as myself. Yet, my opinion of the fragrance changed once I sprayed it on my skin and let it dance with my skin’s composition.

A Royal Affair

The House of Creed is all about creating scents using rare, natural ingredients that result in prestigious aromas, and Queen of Silk is no different.

While inspired by the graceful allure of silk, Queen of Silk starts quite boldly. This is thanks to its top notes of Chinese osmanthus, magnolia, and saffron. Saffron is subtle; osmanthus and magnolia lean floral, but I noticed more amber and spicy scents.

Yet, as the scent begins to engulf me, I notice that it morphs into a more floral and fruity scent. Tuberose, passion fruit, agarwood, and Javanese patchouli uplift my mood and add a spring to my step.

As the scent fades, it reaches my favorite phase – sensual and almost seductive. This is thanks to the Madagascan vanilla, incense, myrrh and musk, which leave a powdery, soft, and (finally) silky scent.

Royalty has daytime engagements, but they wouldn’t wear this scent for them. Rather, Queen of Silk is a scent that’s best worn at night and preferably on a princess, or Queen.

Where do I find it?

CREED Queen Of Silk Eau de Parfum is available from Skins Cosmetics and other niche perfume houses, available both in-store and online.
