Victoria Beckham, or Posh Spice, as her fans know her by, is a fashion designer and businesswoman who knows a thing or two about balancing a busy lifestyle while still prioritizing her health and wellness. Having recently turned the big 5-0, here are a few longevity habits that we can learn from her.

Victoria Beckham Longevity Habits

Collagen-focused diet

According to Vogue, Victoria Beckham’s glowing and healthy skin results from a few different habits, most notably a collagen-focused diet. A collagen-focused diet offers an abundance of benefits for your skin;

Improved skin health

Collagen forms as a massive component of your skin and is the most abundant protein in your body, collagen provides structure, strength, and elasticity. Our bodies produce less collagen as we age, which results in dry skin and wrinkles. Collagen supplements or foods that are rich in collagen can assist in slowing down skin aging by reducing dryness and wrinkles.

Hydration and plumpness

Collagen is important for maintaining skin moisture levels. This creates a barrier that prevents water loss, which ensures your skin stays hydrated, and this results in a plump and youthful look.

Reduced wrinkles and fine lines

The skin’s ability to repair and regenerate is supported by collagen, and increasing collagen production can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

In addition to a collagen-focused diet, Victoria uses her at-home LED mask which happens to be very popular at the moment as it offers skin firming, reducing inflammation, combating wrinkles, and countless other benefits.

Detox treatments

According to Vogue, Victoria receives detox treatments. These treatments have become popular due to their benefits including increased energy, reduced headaches, muscle aches, and fatigue.

Exercise

Commitment is a big part of what you need when deciding to exercise regularly and Victoria and her husband have been told to be extremely diligent when it comes to exercise, says their trainer Bobby Rich, according to Vogue. Consistency and a want to work out is important in seeing results both physically and mentally.

Rich told Vogue that Victoria focuses on dumbbell, barbell, and body weight exercises, in addition to functional and compound movements. These workouts have improved her muscle tone and strength. Interestingly, weight training can be an incredible form of exercise for perimenopause women, and bone density and muscle mass naturally start to decrease.

“The difference in Victoria’s muscle now is that it’s not necessarily bigger, but the quality of muscle and the health she has from having stronger joints, tendons, and ligaments is marked,” Rich said according to Vogue.

Healthy eating

Victoria sticks to a healthy, balanced diet, even if what she eats varies from day to day. “I enjoy eating healthily,” she told The Times “And I’m in the fortunate position where it’s easy for me. I can afford to eat well.”

Victoria relies on her wholesome diet to get her through countless busy days and to keep her immune system strong.

According to Marie Claire, Victoria swears by eating the right amount of healthy fats, which she gets from avocados. In an interview she did with The Telegraph, Victoria expressed that she “eats three or four avocados a day” to keep her skin healthy. Avocados are great for achieving glowing skin due to the rich content of monounsaturated fat and vitamin E. These two compounds work by combatting oxidative stress, which is linked to premature aging.

Additionally, Victoria shared on Instagram that she has two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, which preps her gut for the day. According to Women’s Health, Victoria often starts her day with a bowl of sprouted grain cereal which has a surplus of wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt, and enjoys it with unsweetened organic almond milk. Incorporating sprouted grains into your diet offers great benefits such as increased digestibility, increased absorption of minerals, increased antioxidants, and increased vitamin and mineral content.

The bottom line

By turning 50, Victoria Beckham reiterates how healthy lifestyle habits can do wonders for our minds and bodies.
