I’ve personally noticed a rise in popularity towards fitness now that we’re stuck indoors. It’s interesting when you take away all other responsibilities and distractions like work, we’re finally inclined to do what humans should be doing. It’s about moving daily, eating healthy food, and spending time with our families, or self-reflecting. That’s why staying in really is not an excuse to stop exercising. That’s why large gym chains like Planet Fitness quickly started creating sweaty home workouts for people. Stream free exercise classes on Facebook and YouTube. This isn’t a new concept since a few fitness brands have been live-streaming workouts all along. It’s just that the demand for it exists now. Today’s live workouts are all people want! Peloton and DailyBurn are experiencing tons of downloads. Apparently, the Peloton app, which offers yoga and body strength classes, said that their March downloads were five times higher than February’s.

Better yet, the Daily Burn has seen a 268% year-over-year increase in new members just over the past week. That’s insane! Other yoga apps like Down Dog say it’s had 400,000 people sign up for free memberships in the last two weeks. Apparently, 100,000 came from Spain, Italy, and France, the three European countries hit hardest by COVID-19. People are going nuts being stuck inside and finally, want to find ways to stay active.

This is the solution to stay active and fit during the quarantine.

It’s very apparent that people are spending lots of time looking for ways to stay active on the internet. We believe that there’s an advantage to training online. Why? All online workouts are coached by different personal trainers and instructors who all have unique styles which offer you so much variety. You can literally complete a different workout every day and never get bored. Unlike when you go to the gym not knowing what to do.

Nike said its workout app’s weekly active users in China were up 80% by the end of the quarter. This is obviously because people have been isolated at home. Stats were much lower before the lockdown. It’s great news for us because most of these workouts are free. So you don’t need to pay anything to stay active at home either. Other boutique fitness brands are also extending their free trial periods or waiving their fees entirely, while many countries, including the U.S., call on residents to shelter in place or quarantine themselves. Yay!

Thanks to MarketWatch, we’ve managed to put together a really useful list of fitness apps and streaming services that you can use to stay active from home.

This is an app that is pretty well-known for its spin classes. However, it also offers tons of strength, yoga, stretching, Bootcamp, and even cardio workouts. It also has a few meditation exercises and outdoor running coaching, all of which don’t require any equipment. So you can stay active easily.

You can sign up during this period of lockdown throughout April for free. Peloton has even extended its 30-day free trial period to 90 days. After that, you’ll pay $12.99 a month.


This one is awesome for those of you who have your own spin bike at home. Don’t stress if you haven’t got one because you can stay active too with other free workouts.

Nike Training Club

It seems most training apps are providing us with free workouts to help ease the stress of the corona lockdown. The athletic giant has waived the $14.99 a month fee for its premium service indefinitely.

This means you can download the app and get access to more than 185 free workouts (yoga, cardio, and more). Each workout lasts from 15 to 45 minutes and includes targeted running training programs, nutrition and wellness guidance. What more could you ask to stay active at home?

Daily Burn

It’s an incredible app with thousands of yoga, barre, pilates, cardio, strength training, and high-intensity workouts. Pregnant? Don’t worry! There are lots of specialized sessions for women who are pregnant or postpartum to stay active. Guess what? They’re currently extending their 30-day free trial to 60 days with premium access for all new members. After that, it’s $14.95 a month for the Basic subscription and $26.95 for Premium. Planet Fitness

Yes, all fitness centers and gyms are closed. Fortunately, Planet Fitness is also offering 20-minute free at-home workouts. These workouts are called Home Work-Ins.’ The perfect way to stay active. They are open to nonmembers and members alike.

Corepower Yoga

It is one of the largest yoga studio chains and is giving everyone free access to a collection of online classes while its 200 locations are closed.

Apparently, in-person classes generally cost $26 apiece. CorePower Yoga On Demand will also post new classes online each week, including meditation sessions to clear your head. A great way to stay active and calm down at the same time.

Barry’s Bootcamp

Not every home workout needs to be super long either. Just like a gym, you can stay active and get an effective session in just 15-20 minutes. These workouts allow you to get sweaty in only 20 minutes. These are Barry’s signature strengths and cardio classes on Instagram.

The studio is posting three workouts a day, which will be announced the day before through Instagram Stories under the @barrys handle. You better save the next one in your diary.

If you are dreaming of a physique like Thor, then know you can get one with Chris’s new workout app. You won’t have to burn a hole in your pocket either. The ‘Avengers’ star is offering a free six-week trial on his new Centr fitness and meal plan app, as long as you sign up before March 31. You will be able to stay active just like Thor.

After that, the subscription plan runs $10 a month or $120 for a full-year membership. Workouts cover high-intensity interval training (HIIT), boxing, yoga, strength training, MMA, and more.

Down Dog

This is a family of yoga apps, including Down Dog, Yoga for Beginners, HIIT, Barre, and 7 Minute Workout. All of which will be free until April 1. If you’re a student, teacher, or healthcare professional fighting coronavirus and want to stay active, then you’ll have free access until July 1.

Otherwise, memberships run $7.99 a month, or $49.99 a year.
