From sweet girl-next-door to fashionable secret-agent, Cameron Diaz took the 90s and 00s by storm. Nearly 30 years after’s the star’s film debut opposite Jim Carrey in The Mask, Diaz is still considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, and we’re taking a dive into the actress’s tips and tricks to making 49 look that fantastic.

Prevention is Key

Preventative anti-aging measures are what the Hollywood star swears by, emphasizing the importance of a good quality SPF every. Single. Day. Diaz also takes care of her skin by letting it breathe, and she drinks lots of water to stay hydrated.

No-smoking Zone

Diaz for sure knows a thing or two about maintaining her appearance, as the author of both The Body Book and The Longevity Book. In The Longevity Book, Diaz mentions her #1 anti-aging improvement, along with her biggest regret: smoking, and quitting.

Cameron Diaz On The 5 Pillars of Wellbeing

Following in the footsteps of this internal anti-aging tip, Diaz’s approach to aging is a much more holistic one, rather than just focusing on toning tightening.

The Charlie’s Angels star implements a balanced system of health and longevity in order to age in a wholesome way.

“There are five pillars of wellbeing, with nutrition, physical activity, good sleep, stress release, and loving, connected relationships.”

Diaz explains that those five pillars, along with genetics, the environment we operate in, and the choices we make choices affect the way our cells change, and thereby how we age.

Cameron DiazCatch Some Z’s

Cameron Diaz takes her sleep very seriously, which might be our favorite anti-aging tip yet. In The Body Book, she says: “We spend a good portion of our lives asleep—or trying to sleep—and the quality of that time spent sleeping determines our mood and our mental sharpness, and not just the next morning but the next years of our life.”

Healthy Diet

“Basically, every time I eat, I eat lean protein, some carbs and good fats for energy, and something leafy and green for nutrients and fiber—I’m not really a snacker, potentially as a result of getting everything I need at each meal.”

Diaz is one of the few celebrities that doesn’t skip breakfast or practise intermittent fasting, instead eating breakfast as soon as she wakes up to fuel her workout.

Get Moving

Speaking of workouts Diaz has always been known for her long, lean figure, which she has maintained throughout, and after, her career. The Annie actress enjoys being active, and switches between a variety of workouts, which include weight training, cardio, HIIT, and Pilates.

“Exercise for me is like eating, sleeping, and breathing. I’m consistent, and when I’m not consistent, it shows up on my body.”

Cameron DiazAll About the Attitude

Despite all of Diaz’s anti-aging secrets, the most notable is her attitude towards growing, and looking, older. In 2014, the actress revealed that she had gotten Botox… and hated it.

“It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to be like that’ – I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all,” she explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

This American actress doesn’t shy away from aging, instead choosing to see it as a journey that is a privilege, and this is what sets her apart:

A lot of the time, we get so caught up in the pressure of looking our best (and our youngest) that we forget that aging is a perfectly natural process, and it should be embraced and celebrated the way that Cameron Diaz does.
