Popular Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston has managed to preserve her sculpted body and youthful appearance since her ‘Friends’ days.  So how does this fifty-one-year-old do it?

Contrary to what you may think, this talented actress has revealed that the key to being healthy and fit is not in the aesthetic touch. It’s got a lot more to do with what your eating habits and routines look like.  She’s one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars. While we agree that she’s got incredibly good genetics, she is known to put in a lot of hard work and discipline.  That’s how Jennifer is able to preserve her youthful look and feel.

In fact, the star has a no-nonsense approach to fitness that isn’t for the faint of heart. However, if you have the mettle to take on her approach, it will certainly challenge your inner strength. Better yet, you’ll get a great sweat no matter what time of the year it is. More importantly, her diet and beauty routines are always up to scratch. Although we don’t have control over the aging process, we do have control of the kind of lifestyle we live. If you make this a lifestyle, you can celebrate having a beautiful and healthy shape all year round. No matter what your age is, you can preserve your youth.

Stay Youthful With A Good Routine

We think that the best advice to give you would be to establish a healthy routine that’s enjoyable. This routine should be something you can stick to daily, one you are able to sustain so that it becomes your new normal.

In an interview with Radio Times, Jennifer confessed that she drinks green juice every day and exercises 6 times a week. She also admits that she completely avoids fried and fast foods. Whilst this might seem like a rigorous schedule, she includes one free day of rest in which she does and eats whatever she wants. Now we know many of you might be thinking that a six-day workout routine might be too much for you. Remember that you are in control of the intensity of the rate at which you work out. So long as you find a way to move every day because this is the best way to preserve your youth.

Besides, most health experts explain that these are not far from their recommendations to preserve your health and maintain an ideal weight. In a study published by the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, it is beneficial to keep a diet regime based on habits. This regime includes healthy foods and an exercise routine.

Jennifer Embraces Her Beauty

By this we mean she’s quite disciplined when it comes to her beauty routine. Many of us tend to neglect our skin, but it’s an essential aspect to consider if you want to preserve your youth. Jennifer is a woman that has tons of dedication, willpower and self-control. However, it’s not just in terms of her diet and exercise. In an interview with Vogue, she shared the one tip she always follows every morning.

Jennifer says that she gets a bowl of ice water and splashes it in her face 25 times. She added that it’s an old school trick that Joan Crawford used. Apparently doing this wakes your skin up. Ice-cold water may be quite an adjustment, so if you’re up for trying this one maybe try some cool water first and then work your way up. Another important aspect of her beauty routine is that she keeps her makeup natural and simple. This is the best way to preserve your health.

In her interview with Marie Claireshe shared her go-to look. Jennifer says she likes to keep her daytime makeup really minimal.  She uses a pinky nude lip, a coat of mascara and maybe some cream blush. She jokes that unlike her bulging handbag, she keeps her routine streamlined. Moreover, if she could only have five makeup products in her bag, they would be mascara, lip balm, and a good lipstick.

Stay Youthful With Self-Care

Jennifer never skips time for self-care and invests a lot of time in it. She also swears by infrared light therapy, which is known to have many benefits. These include boosting overall circulation, improving skin texture and collagen production.Youthful Jennifer Aniston [longevity live]

In fact, in an interview with ShapeJen shared her love for light therapy. She says she has an infrared sauna that she’s fallen in love with. She says it’s such a game-changer in terms of your skin detoxification and cell rejuvenation. Jennifer does this a couple of times a week right after she goes to the gym. She says she’s noticed a real change in her energy, sleep, and her ability to preserve her skin.

More importantly, to preserve her youth she keeps washing her face to a minimum because otherwise, it’ll strip away your natural oils. The star also tries to opt for green celery juice in the mornings rather than her coffee. This is because celery is packed with vitamin K which is good for circulation and reducing stress levels. This is surely needed when you live and work in Hollywood. Lastly, she is very gentle with her hair and tries to stay away from bleaching or harsh dying products and keeps her products organic.

This is how she works out

Her personal trainer Leyon Azubuike told Women’s Health in February that she exercises up to six days a week for an hour and a half each session.preserve your youth Jennifer Aniston [longevity live]

He says together they box, jump rope, do strength training and lots of resistance band work. Jennifer explains that she’s a big fan of resistance bands. Moreover, they rotate these things, so it’s always hard and is consistently challenging her body. Switching things up is a great way to preserve your youth and ensure your body reacts positively and changes.

Azubuike added that because of Aniston’s hectic work schedule, these workout sessions usually start super early in the morning. More importantly, if you want to preserve your health then you must kick off your mornings on the right note. This means you can’t skip breakfast. Jennifer previously told Well + Good her go-to is a shake with some sort of pure protein. She will then add some bananas, blueberries, frozen cherries, stevia, maca powder, a little cacao, and a vegetable mix of dynamic greens. Not only will a healthy meal in the AM keep you feeling fuller for longer, but it will also give you the energy needed to kick off your day.

She says if she doesn’t have a shake, she’ll just have some toast and poached eggs with some avocado. Or millet cereal with almond milk and bananas. Jennifer says it’s really yummy, and you can get it hot in the winter months.

Can’t Get To The Gym?

Don’t worry.

Jennifer told Harper’s Bazaar that when she’s not doing the elliptical, spinning or even running. She plays the ‘Body by Simone’ DVD for floor work which keeps her in good company. Simone De La Rue is a trainer who is frequently sought out by stars, including Victoria’s Secret Angels. According to Jennifer, it’s so freakin’ hard, it’s unbelievable.

Another workout routine to stay youthful is boxing. Jennifer says there’s something about the mental aspect of boxing. The drills force your brain to work, so you’re not just sitting on a bike. That’s amazing if your goal is to preserve mental strength as well. Moreover, boxing is a great way to get aggression out. You get a mental release of everything you’re taking into your ears and eyes every day and have little fantasy moments imagining who you’re actually punching.

Point: Keep Moving

We think it’s evident right now that if you want a youthful body then you need to move, a lot. Well, according to Jennifer, this is key.

She’s also a fan of yoga for her lean physique because it can also be done anywhere, including at home. Her trainer and friend Mandy Ingber told InStyle that after 20-30 minutes of spinning, she’ll dedicate herself to 40-45 minutes of yoga while her heart rate is up. Jennifer focuses on standing poses, such as Warrior II and Triangle, among others.

She loves balancing poses, like the tree, half-moon pose and warrior II. In addition, she likes planks, because planks work out the abs. Yoga is also a great way to build on flexibility, especially if you remain consistent as Jennifer does. We also appreciate those of you who are busy, working women and don’t have a lot of time to exercise. Jennifer says you want to dedicate at least 20 minutes each day to moving your body. This can be going for a walk or run, which is enough to kick up your metabolism.

Make It Quick

You can do some quick stretching or yoga to preserve your health. Perhaps you’ve got an injury but still want to preserve a healthy body? No problem, instead of yoga you can opt for the Barre Method, which is a hybrid of Pilates and ballet that relies on body weight. Jennifer says she does 20-30 minutes of cardio and then an hour with Barre Method if she’s in a lot of pain.

No matter where you are right now in life, just know that even the smallest changes have the biggest impact on your ability to preserve your longevity. Although Jennifer has quite a rigorous schedule, it’s good to keep in mind for inspiration and something to work your way towards. If you want to preserve good health and stay youthful, the best way is to find a routine that fits well with yours and is one that you enjoy. This means you’ll stick to it.

Move more, eat more good food and stay youthful. Simple.
