She’s a fan of olive oil
Lopez is such a huge fan of this kitchen staple that she’s included it as a key ingredient in her new skincare products.
“My mom used to say that olive oil was the cure-all for everything,” the star shared. “And it’s a secret I’ve used over the years because it really does work…I’ve tried drugstore products and I’ve tried the most expensive products. What I went back to is basically secrets my mum told me when I was young. How olive oil is kind of a cure-all for your hair, your skin, your nails, your body. It’s like nature’s magic ingredient.”
How does olive oil help your skin?
Firstly, olive oil is rich in a number of vitamins, most notably vitamins A and E – both of which are great skin-loving vitamins.
For instance, vitamin E can help with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Furthermore, the antioxidant properties found in vitamin E, as well as the presence of squalene in olive oil, can also help to protect the skin from free radical damage, which includes preventing premature aging.
How can I use olive oil on my skin?
You can mix in with your moisturizer. Make sure not to mix too much in. It is still an oil and it does have the potential to clog your pores.
Sunscreen is her superpower
“I am a firm believer in SPF. I try not to stay out in the sun for too long.” Lopez shared with InStyle. With the World Health Organisation stating that UV exposure can accelerate skin aging as well as the gradual loss of the skin’s elasticity, which can then result in wrinkles and dry, coarse skin, it’s fair to assume that Ms. Lopez never forgets to use her sunscreen.
When using sunscreen, make sure to select one that’s broad-spectrum, has an SPF of at least 30, and is free of any toxic ingredients like oxybenzone and homosalate.
She’s a fan of glycolic acid
In 2016, Lopez revealed to People Magazine that she’s a huge fan of glycolic acid as it helps to get that healthy glow and clear skin.

It’s a favorite ingredient in the beauty world due to its ability to address a number of skincare woes. Speaking on El Zol 107.9, Lopez admitted that while she struggled with lockdown, she did her best to keep things moving: “Do a little workout at home, do something that’s going to make you feel good. Cook something you like, lift yourself up, keep going.”
