Collagen has a major role to play in skincare. It helps to maintain suppleness, as well as the elasticity, of our skin. But as we age, the amount of collagen in our body decreases. And this soon becomes evident in the appearance of our skin. Luckily, there are treatments that aim to stimulate the production of collagen, promoting smooth and supple skin.

One of these is the Collagen Induction Therapy Treatment, courtesy of BeautΓ© Pacifique and For Beautiful Life Medical Aesthetics, we tried out this treatment using Longevity’s Sally Hudson for the trial.

How does it work?

Upon arrival, Sally needed to fill out a questionnaire and have her skin digitally analyzed by a PreScan with DermaScan4LiFE Ultrasound. The purpose of this analysis is to better determine the true medical condition of her skin. Initially, Sally expected the harsh South African climate, aging and her intensive swimming routine to have had a great impact on her skin. She was, however, surprised to discover minimal damage.Β

What to expect during and after the treatment

The 90-minute treatment, which was conducted by Erna Keevy, BeautΓ© master trainer for South Africa, began with a gentle cleansing with BeautΓ© Pacifique Cleansing Milk for Dry Skin. This helps to gently, yet effectively remove excess oil, impurities, and make-up. Erna followed this step up with BeautΓ© Pacifique Enriched Toner. The BeautΓ© Pacifique Gentle Facial Exfoliator concluded this section of the treatment. This would cleanse the skin of dead skin cells, and help to moisturize the skin.

Erna then applied Clinical Niacin Laser Preparation cream to Sally’s skin. It stayed on for about 40 minutes, to prepare it for the Infrared Alma Soprano Ice treatment. The purpose of the infrared treatment is to assist in even deeper penetration, rejuvenation, and also tightening and lifting of the skin.

BeautΓ© Pacifique has well documented and published medical evidence of up to 30%Β  Induction of Collagen using Niacin Cream. Immediately thereafter, Erna applied BeautΓ© Pacifique Instant Hydrating Mask to the skin. She paired it with infra-red to cool the skin and encourage rejuvenation.Β

While receiving treatment, Sally also enjoyed a foot massage.

Erna then applied BeautΓ© Pacifique Defy Damage Skin Repair Serum. It contains three highly active medical-grade ingredients. These serve not only to plump up the skin. But also to fight against the formation of wrinkles, and combat sun damage. She followed it up with BeautΓ© Pacifique Paradox Eye Cream, and Chilean Grape Seed Extract Paradox Day Cream. Lastly, BeautΓ© Pacifique Stay Beautiful SPF 30 was applied.Β

Initially, Sally’s skin looked very red after the treatment. However, it was back to normal by the time she left the clinic.

Following the session, the centre normally advises its clients to return every two months for a free ultrasound skin health scan. As part of their skin health service to continue the journey of lasting beautiful skin.

Does it live up to its promise?

Following the session, Sally admitted that her skin was glowing, felt plumper, and got even better over the next few days. She is still currently using BeautΓ© Pacifique products and highly recommends the treatment.
