It’s an incredible time to be alive since we have the wisdom to live better, healthier, and longer. There’s so much information available about the different kinds of oils and their beauty benefits. From avocado oil to olive, to argan, to coconut, to tea tree, to almond, aloe vera, and even jojoba. The list goes on.

Beauty products to heal skin containing these oils are found everywhere. Face moisturizers to the body and hair products. But then you get ‘not-so-common’ oils like Frankincense. You may or may not have heard about this ancient essential oil. Don’t worry, because not many have, but this oil has existed for centuries. However, the Western world is only catching onto its unique ability to heal skin now. We can’t keep it a beauty secret forever, so we thought we’d hand this knowledge down to you. Since it’s been around for generations, more people need to start incorporating frankincense into their beauty routines.

To heal skin, more often than not the natural approach is always better. Essential oils are a great investment not only for your skin but also for your entire body. Why? Well, your skin is the body’s largest organ, and absorbs a lot of the materials that we put on it. So you have the power to heal skin if you’re putting good things on it. Focus on using ingredients filled with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fatty acids. Stay away from synthetic chemicals as much as you can.

Luckily, natural methods to heal skin are usually safer, more affordable, and effective.

Frankincense Oil Helps To Heal Skin

I’m sure most of you have heard about essential oils. They’re increasing in popularity because of their therapeutic and healing properties in aromatherapy.

They’re usually sourced from leaves, stems or roots of plants that are known for their health properties. But what’s so special about Frankincense oil?

Well, it can heal your skin and so much more. People often call it olibanum and use it to help relieve chronic stress and anxiety, reduce pain and inflammation, and boost immunity. In fact, this essential oil might even be able to help fight cancer.

What Is Frankincense Oil?

Before we get into why it helps to heal your skin, let’s chat about what it is first. According to research, Frankincense oil is from the genus Boswellia. It’s also sourced from the resin of the Boswellia carteriiBoswellia ferreana or Boswellia serrata trees. These trees are usually found in Somalia and regions of Pakistan. In fact, this tree is different from many others because it can grow with very little soil in dry and desolate conditions.

The word originates from France and translates to ‘quality incense’ in old French. Frankincense has been associated with many different religions over the years, especially the Christian religion. It was one of the first gifts given to Jesus by the wise men. The essential oil smells like a combination of pine, lemon, and woody scents.

This powerful oil might heal skin problems. But it’s also got strong anti-inflammatory properties that may promote healthy cells and anti-cancer effects. However, with anything, you must use moderate amounts. Don’t go wild because large quantities can be toxic for you. It’s best to either inhale the oil or absorbing it through the skin, mixed with a carrier oil, like coconut oil or jojoba oil.

Researchers believe that the oil transmits messages to the limbic system of the brain. It is known to influence the nervous system and heal skin issues.

Although there is no real scientific evidence that this oil will heal skin and help you age beautifully. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence and the fact that it’s been used for centuries accounts for a lot. According to producers of the oil, frankincense acts as both an astringent and antibacterial oil. Apparently, the antibacterial properties of frankincense help the skin heal by cleansing and nourishing the skin from any harmful bacteria.

Moreover, it may also act as an antiseptic and disinfectant agent that has antimicrobial effects. Skin experts claim the oil might be able to help eliminate cold and flu germs from the home and the body naturally. Interestingly, some people are even using this essential oil instead of chemical household cleaners.

More importantly, it can help heal skin through its astringent properties. Reportedly, Frankincense essential oil might help to tighten the skin, remove excess oil and regulate sebum production. This is amazing because when you combine these two properties you find yourself with a great natural addition to your conventional acne treatment blend.

Prevent Signs Of Aging To Heal Skin

Supposedly, Frankincense oil might also be able to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, and defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes. Naturally, this will drastically improve your overall appearance as you age. Whether essential oil truly has this effect sounds pretty promising. Totally worth a try!

In fact, it’s been said that it can even help tone and lift skin, reduce the appearance of scars and acne, and heal wounds. Apparently, some have even found it to be effective at helping to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, surgical scars, or marks associated with pregnancy, and even for healing dry or cracked skin.

According to a review published in the Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine, frankincense oil can also heal skin issues by reducing redness and skin irritations. Studies suggest that it’s the pentacyclic triterpene (steroid-like) structure of frankincense oil that contributes to its soothing effect on irritated skin. This is not set in stone, but we’d love to give Frankincense a try! This especially means we get the chance to heal skin problems the natural way.

Along with its many other health benefits like improving the mind and the entire cardiovascular system. As well as its profound ability to supposedly reduce anxiety and depression-reducing abilities, relax and calm the mind. Frankincense oil is a wonder we must all try to help heal skin problems. Just a precaution though, watch out for the environment too. If you’re going to try it out, be sure to source it from a company that produces the oil sustainably without harming the natural habitat and trees around our planet.
