Chris Collins African Rooibos: Fragrance Profile

As you may guess by the name, this is a woody, aromatic scent, with top notes of rooibos tea, bergamot, and cardamom. As a result of this, you’ll embraced by the warmth of a freshly brewed cup of rooibos as the scent hits your skin. There’s also a fresh and zesty opening, thanks to bergamot, and a hint of exoticism and spiciness, courtesy of cardamom. All of this results in a herbal, zesty and slightly spicy opening upon first spray.

With the passing time, there’s an almost contrasting smell as notes of jasmine, dried fruits and cinnamon take over. This creates a softer, sweeter, and warmer scent, adding to the gourmand aspect of the scent, but also enhancing its cozy feel.

As the scent settles, it embraces its woody side, thanks to the presence of amber, vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood, and musk notes.

While vanilla and sandalwood serve to add a smooth and warm finish, musk provides a subtle undertone and amber and patchouli balance the sweeter notes with depth and earthiness, resulting in a creamy, sweet, grounding, but also luxurious scent.

Fancy a cup of African rooibos?

Rooibos tea is an incredible beverage, and fans of it will definitely enjoy this scent, particularly because of its warm, comforting, and herbal sweetness that feels both luxurious and intimate. Also, like the tea, the fragrance isn’t overly sweet, making it a sophisticated offering for those looking for a unisex scent.

That said, non-tea lovers may not appreciate the herbal, and slightly earthy, qualities of the scent, especially if you prefer simpler, lighter, and fresher scents. Additionally, as mentioned, the fragrance is quite intimate, meaning that the sillage, unlike its longevity, isn’t the strongest.

A Much-Needed Cup

A bold, complex fragrance that bridges the worlds of teas and scents, Chris CollinsAfrican Rooibos is not only a celebration of culture. Rather, it’s also a scent that holds a unique composition that offers a sensory and intimate journey for those who appreciate depth, individuality and a really good cup of tea.

Where do I find it?

Chris Collins African Rooibos is available from Skins Cosmetics and other niche perfume houses, available both in-store and online.
