We know women form 52% of the population in the country and across the African continent but sadly women’s access to education and health care has not been a priority”.
Organon will also focus on its important biosimilars business, focusing on oncology and inflammatory diseases, while maximising the value of its trusted dermatology, pain, respiratory and cardiovascular portfolio in countries around the world where there is still a great need for these treatments.
“On the African continent, the need for health care, especially among women, is so broad. We know through the ages women have been the backbone of society in Africa. Often in the face of extreme adversity. But we also do know that there has been a disproportionate impact of the pandemic on the social and economic status of women in South Africa”.
