Superstar Nicole Scherzinger from the pop girl-gang, the Pussycat Dolls just turned 42 and her body is looking better than ever before. Her boyfriend Thom Evans took her on a dream birthday holiday to Portugal to celebrate. They took some dreamy photographs there and of course, we couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked in a bikini.
In the photo, superstar Nicole is wearing a white two-piece bikini and her body looks tight and toned. How does she turn 42 and stay in such great shape? Especially now during a pandemic. Based on a variety of reports, it’s clear that Nicole uses a combination of healthy eating and regular exercise. We took a look at what Nicole is doing to look so good. We could even argue that superstar Nicole looks better at 42 than she did in 2005.
Luckily, Nicole’s very open about her diet and fitness in interviews and on social media. So we were able to find out what exactly she does to stay fit and healthy. We also have some insight from Thom’s trainer Glenn Higgins, who admits that superstar, Nicole enjoys exercising a lot. Better yet, they both really love exercising as a couple because competitiveness keeps them both motivated! Also, we’re confident that Nicole does a lot of dancing in her daily routine because she really knew how to move during the Pussycat Dolls days.
Superstar, Nicole Shares Her Daily Routine
Their personal trainer Glenn Higgins says it’s always great to have both Thom and Nicole in his studio. He adds that he regularly trains Thom, but having them both train together is great fun. Also, they both always show up and give 100%, and training together is perfect for them because they really push each other all the way.
According to Womanly News, superstar Nicole says her secret to maintaining abs is having fun with exercise. Glenn, who founded the successful YouTube channel Get Kids Moving to help children exercise during the lockdown, says Nicole is always keen to bring her dance background into training.
He explains that their warm-ups usually involve some sort of dance routine so there’s never a dull moment in their sessions. Also, superstar, Nicole has her own personal trainer based in Los Angeles, Paolo Mascitti. But more importantly, the couple trains hard together to stay motivated. Glenn says he mixes things up regularly to keep the hardworking singer motivated.
Her trainer, Paolo explains that a session usually involves a HIIT workout (High-Intensity Interval Training) which targets three key muscle groups. These usually include upper arms, abdominal muscles, glutes, inner and outer thighs. These movements generally consist of a plank to push-up movement, and hip thrusts followed by side lunges.
Nicole’s Battle With an Eating Disorder
We don’t often take a look behind the scenes, but we feel it’s important to do so. It’s often a reminder that nobody is perfect, we’re all human and everyone has problems. Unfortunately, superstar Nicole used to have an unhealthy relationship with food. During her time in Pussycat Dolls, she even developed Bulimia and at one point it became very serious.
However, we know now that she’s a lot healthier, and she’s willing to share her story to help others who are still struggling. Here’s what she said to Cosmopolitan:
“But you can recover and you can get rid of it forever. I did it and that’s why it’s so important for me to share my story…you hide it from the world, you isolate yourself. But you can beat it- do not give up, because you’re so special and you’re meant for such great things.”
What The Superstar Eats Today
Superstar Nicole sticks to eating a relatively simple diet now and tries her best to eat everything in moderation. This means she doesn’t deny herself anything in particular, but she does try to keep things healthy when she can. Why? Well, she admits she always feels better when she eats healthier.
And the better she feels, the easier it is to keep up with her busy schedule.
Here’s What She Typically Eats In A Day:
Breakfast
Nicole’s daily routine starts with breakfast that’s filled with protein and complex carbs. She doesn’t enjoy eating low-carb, however, she prefers not to indulge in them excessively.
Superstar Nicole says she still eats carbs in moderation, taking care to get her carbs from fruits, veg, and whole grains. Her favorite breakfast is avocado toast served with poached eggs and smoked salmon because this gives her body plenty of lean protein, healthy fats, and Omega-3s. These nutrients give her the energy she needs to handle her daily workouts without slowing down her recovery.
But when she’s in the mood for something different, she’s happy to indulge in bacon or healthy oatmeal filled with berries and other antioxidant-rich fruits. The key is variety. If superstar Nicole gets tired of eating something, she’ll change it up. She says she’s always careful to incorporate a balance of fats, carbs, and protein into each meal.
Lunch
Superstar Nicole tries to keep things healthy, just like she does with breakfast. That means making sure you have enough healthy carbs and protein to fuel up for the rest of the day.
However, it’s often a smaller meal than her breakfast. On any given day, she’ll eat something simple like a salad or sushi. This gives her a mix of fiber and protein which helps her stay fuller for longer.
If she’s not that hungry, she’ll have a veg-filled soup. But sometimes she’ll pick something that also has lentils, beans, or noodles to make it a bit more filling.
Dinner
Admittedly, superstar Nicole explains that she’s too busy to cook and prefers to order out or eat at a restaurant. And those meals can often be slightly more indulgent than breakfast and lunch.
Therefore, she typically has rice and some lean protein or a moderate portion of pasta with a side of cooked veggies. It usually depends on her mood. When she’s craving something less healthy, she loves ordering Mexican food with tons of cheese and is known to indulge in a pizza now and then.
But since she eats healthy most of the time and doesn’t indulge in junk food on a daily basis, she’s able to keep the weight off without too much effort.
Snacks and Dessert
Superstar Nicole tells Rachael Attard that she often snacks between meals due to her busy schedule. She regularly snacks on almonds, fresh coconut, and baby carrots or fresh vegetables. That doesn’t mean she won’t indulge in some French fries or salt and vinegar chips when the craving hits.
If she does, she’s careful not to overdo it. It’s the same with desserts and often has fruit or something healthy to satisfy her sweet tooth. That said, she tends to prefer salty snacks to sweets.
Superstar Nicole says she gets the best results by eating a balanced diet and practicing moderation. In terms of exercise, she is an advocate of cardio like going for a 20-minute run on the treadmill or outside or an hour SoulCycle class. She also does HIIT training. For strength, she enjoys Pilates, yoga, and some weighted exercises. However, she used to have an unhealthy obsession with exercising and says you won’t get better results by exercising more.
It’s important to nourish your body and have fun with the exercises you do if you want to maintain a healthy weight, look and feel your best.
