Worms and the effect that they can have on your body are highly underestimated. After the experience, I had with them… I must share with you the importance of deworming both your family and yourself.

Intestinal worms are the worst kind of parasites and can take away your health in no time at all. They don’t need your permission either.  It’s easy to forget about it because you think you’re an adult. So, how could you possibly be exposed to them? But just because you don’t play around in the mud all day with the kids, you’re no less likely to get worms.

Let this remind you that just about anybody can be infested with them. They’re awful parasites, who live in your body without paying any rent at all.

They don’t mind causing havoc in their own house either. Even the smallest parasites can cause pain, discomfort, and illness.

Worms Can Strike At Any Time

Deworming both yourself and your family ensures that you are absorbing all the critical nutrients your body needs. You want to feel healthy and stay that way. Life gets busy, I know that. You think that worms are the least of your worries until their symptoms start showing. They can creep up on you, out of nowhere, and you won’t know what’s wrong with you until you’re in a crisis. So, it’s better to avoid that entirely.worms [longevity live]

That’s why healthcare professionals always advise us to deworm from time to time. And you should do this every three to six months. The scary thing about an infestation is that you often don’t exhibit visible symptoms straight after infestation.

To this day, I am still uncertain about when exactly my gut started hosting guests. However, in the last two months of the process, it became very obvious that something was wrong, and I needed to seek help.

On the surface, deworming looks like a non-threatening affair, but a lack of it can be fatal for you. And you can get them from almost anywhere. However, the main sources seem to be from our daily, unhygienic habits which lead to worm infestation. Even walking barefoot on the lawn, or eating with unwashed hands, drinking untreated water or milk, and cooking unwashed vegetables. You can get them from swimming in a pool with untreated water, or even a small lick from a pet.

But, one of the most common places that can cause infestation is eating undercooked meat or uncleaned fish. In many places, particularly fast food stalls, meat dishes are not always prepared with utmost care. So, please beware!

What Are The Symptoms?

There are different kinds of worms, and they all have slightly unique symptoms. However, there are generalized symptoms which should strike an alarm. Roundworm, tapeworm, and hookworm are the most common parasites that lead to infestation.

You might begin to notice your concentration levels dropping, which is not like you. Worm infection can cause the deterioration of adult productivity and affect cognitive progress. Therefore, it might start to reduce literacy and lower your nutritional status.

Watch your appetite! This was the biggest thing that I noticed a change in. You’ll experience either a sudden increase or a sudden decrease in your appetite. The second thing was the extreme tiredness and fatigue that seemed to haunt my body. And this is coming from somebody who is usually very energetic and full of beans. Doctors have also noted anemia, fever, itchy bottom, and loose bowels as clear signs.

What made me really feel bad was the constant abdominal pain, vomiting, and nausea that kept plaguing my body at random times

And it can be easily mistaken for symptoms of a hyper or hypoactive thyroid. Do yourself a favor and get your blood tested if you’re experiencing any of these strange symptoms. Very importantly, these symptoms do not happen day in and day out. They can come in waves.

Natural Remedies To Deworm Yourself

Of course, if you have already been infected, you’re better off going to the doctor and getting a prescription. Regular deworming tablets are perfectly fine as well. But there are ways you can naturally deworm using fruit.

1. Raw Papayasworms [longevity live]

This is extremely beneficial to your gut health and prevents intestinal worms. The enzyme papain has anthelmintic properties that work against the parasite. You can use raw flesh, seeds as well as leaves. You can try crushing the seeds and adding them to your morning oats or smoothies.

2. Lotus Stem

The lotus is a sacred plant in many cultures, and for good reason. Most of its health benefits come from the root. Lotus root has dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin B6, phosphorus, copper, and manganese. It’s best to serve the lotus root juice in the morning on an empty stomach.

3. Coconut

Many health experts recommend coconut for those who suffer from stomach ailments. Coconut is amazing for clearing toxins from the system and cooling them down. Coconut oil also contains caprylic acid which has anti-parasitic and anti-bacterial properties.

4. Pomegranate

This is an incredible fruit that helps improve your heart health and general health.  According to homeopathic doctors, the bark of the pomegranate tree contains an alkaloid called punicine, which has anthelmintic properties that help in getting rid of intestinal worms.

Try boiling the bark in water, then remove it from the flame and letting it rest overnight. Strain the water and drink it on an empty stomach early in the morning. Drinking fresh pomegranate juice can also help keep your system working efficiently.

5. Pineappleworms [longevity live]

I absolutely love the tropical flavor of this fruit and was happy to find another reason to eat it! It is great for the stomach, aiding natural digestion and curing constipation. It contains a digestive enzyme called bromelain that is known to help in the breakdown of protein and combat intestinal worms. Drink some pineapple juice when you wake up, before breakfast!
