Aqualis Fleur de Glace: A Scent Profile

Translated to ice flower, fleur de glace refers to a structure that forms in freezing weather whereby thin layers of ice are released from long-stemmed plants, later curling into petals that resemble a flower.

Drawing inspiration from its namesake, Aqualis Fleur de Glace offers delicate florals, crisp freshness, and subtle woody undertones.

Upon the first icy spritz comes sparkling citrus (bergamot, yellow mandarin, sweet orange Brazil) and aldehydes (baies rose), which creates a bright and refreshing first impression, a great illustration for morning break, and the warmer seasons.

Floral or Soapy?

Unfortunately, as with some floral scents, some may perceive the aldehydes in the opening as soapy, akin to fabric softener. The scent then embraces the morning chill by descending into icy aquatic accords, before settling into soft musk, sandalwood, and cedar.

I enjoy a floral scent, but the last thing I want is to smell like an overworked florist. Thankfully, this scent has moderate sillage and decent longevity, ensuring that your presence is noticeable, but not overpowering.

I’m also a fan of the fragrance’s subtlety, but some may prefer a bolder fragrance with a less icy and more natural scent.

Aqualis Fleur de Glace: A Icy Twist on Luxury Perfume

Aqualis’s latest release is a beautifully balances the freshness of icy florals with subtle woody warmth, and so it’s the perfect scent for someone seeking a subtle, floral, and extremely light scent.

That said, if you’re someone who loves to make a statement, especially during the colder months, you may want to opt for something bolder.

Getting Icy

Aqualis Fleur de Glace is available from Skins Cosmetics and other niche perfume houses, available both in-store and online.
