Over three incredible September days, hundreds gathered to celebrate wellness, foster collaboration, share innovative ideas and build community.
From the moment the doors opened at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, industry professionals, health experts, wellness enthusiasts, innovators, and thought leaders began to gather under one roof. Here’s our round up of the event.
A Thriving Good Time at Thrive by WHX Cape Town
Between 2-4 September, Thrive featured a packed agenda, which not only featured over 200 impressive brands and product showcases from brands like Hyrox South Africa, Clicks, and Technogym, but also included inspiring keynotes and thought-provoking panel discussions.
Thriving Experts
Our favorite part of the experience was definitely the keynotes that not only provided detailed insights into longevity, but also allowed attendees to engage in meaningful conversations and discover emerging trends.
For instance, one impressive speaker was Prof. Veron Ramsuran from UKZN Howard College, who unpacked the complex relationship between our genes, our environment, and our potential to live longer, healthier lives.

Another was neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart, who proposed to the audience at WHX Thrive that embracing art could be the key to living a fulfilling life.

In addition to medical experts, there were thought leaders and athletes, such as South African rugby legend Bryan Habana, who served as the expo’s official brand ambassador. He shared his perspective on the event and also discussed the importance of mental wellness, as well as the tools that have shaped his journey on and off the field.

Your Mind Does Matter
Mental health is an integral part of wellness. In a space designed to reshape mindsets and tap into our resilience, the Mind Matters Summit at Thrive by WHX in Cape Town welcomed an awe-inspiring lineup of speakers. This included Lira, a South African music sensation and survivor of a life-altering stroke that took her voice. Yet, in a deeply moving and inspiring conversation, Lira shared how in that silence, she discovered something far more profound.
Alongside Lira, at the Mind Matters Summit was Dr. Andreea Vanacker, who survived a brain tumor, gave a talk that was deeply personal, scientifically grounded, and a powerful reflection on what it means to live with joy, purpose, and resilience
In celebrating wellness and doing it well, Thrive by WHX has redefined how healthcare events can prioritize not only innovation, but also human connection and holistic well-being.
While Thrive by WHX may have closed its doors for now, the good news is that it will return in 2026 on the 10th and 12th of July to further celebrate the intersection of health, fitness, wellness, and community.
