Dr. Carl Giordano is a practicing orthopedic spine surgeon. His background going back to college was chemistry, and he has never really let go of chemistry, biochemistry, and nutritional chemistry. Dr. Giordano shared that as a physician, he finds it frustrating that all of this new and current information takes a relatively long time to weave its way into the practicing medical field. His desire was to put a company and product together to take the helpful information and make it more understandable to the public.

Although the information that is being shared is not new, it is often difficult to understand. This is why the goal is to make it comprehensible to the public. The category that this falls under for the public is no longer science fiction. This is now information that can be understood and one is able to participate in. This is where Dr. Giordano’s project began.

Where to get your wellness information

The average consumer can get overwhelmed by health and wellness information that is barely understandable in itself, let alone the sheer amount that is being thrown at people. Dr Giordano added that you may simply be getting your information from the wrong places; you should only be seeking information from a professional who is capable enough to translate it for you.

”If people can understand it, they buy into it, if they don’t understand it, it just goes into one ear and out the other.”

It is important for people to understand that when it comes to nutritional chemistry, it is not a five-minute discussion. It does require more information and, most importantly, more understanding.

How does the average person navigate health?

When you are looking at investing in your health, take note of the three big categories. There are exercise, diet, and a category Dr. Giordano refers to as the five most essential molecules. The public needs to understand that when we talk about aging, it is not necessary, how can we reverse aging? Instead, we should discuss the concept of decelerating aging.

What are the right and wrong things we can do regarding the aging process? This is a question we should be addressing instead, in addition to, am I doing everything I can to retain my cellular identity? But why do we age, you may ask. The answer is, that we age because our cells lose their ability to function in the way that they were designed to function.

Why exercise is essential

Exercise promotes DNA repair, reduces inflammation, improves your immune function, and improves metabolic health, along with many other incredible benefits. Exercise is not done just for the sake of it. It is done to maintain cellular identity, which we know is an important part of the deceleration of aging.

4 categories of exercise (which you can’t pick and choose from)

  • Strength training
  • Aerobic conditioning
  • Stretching
  • Balance function

You should be engaging in exercise but, most importantly, engaging in all four of these categories. You simply can’t pick one category as it is not going to be enough, you want to be checking off each of these boxes. Dr. Giordano also added that as you get older, it is essential that you don’t avoid going up and down stairs but to keep doing so and keep your body moving and strong. We always see older people looking for one-story houses, but doing so is not beneficial to your body and should not be the goal when we age.

Which is the best type of diet?

Our diet provides the nutrients that our cells need for these cellular reactions. We need proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. These all supply us with different benefits to our cells. Now, the question that always comes up is what is the right amount of protein? High protein, low protein, or a normal protein diet? Which path should we take? There is overwhelming evidence that when it comes to diet, moderate protein, and high complex carbohydrates are probably the best.

Complex carbohydrates are different from regular carbohydrates in that they are metabolized slowly and broken down slowly. As a result, they don’t spike your blood sugar, and that is key with complex carbohydrates. And we, of course, need proteins for hormone synthesis and enzyme synthesis.

Dr. Giordano expressed that plant-centered diets are the healthiest on a cellular level. They provide the right number of proteins, which may be harder to get, but you can get enough of them, and the diet also provides complex carbohydrates.

It is important to note that if you are plant-based, you will get almost all your vitamins from your diet. The Mediterranean diet is largely a plant-based diet and includes an abundance of beans, seeds, and salads. This characteristic renders it low in cholesterol. It further provides complex carbohydrates and the right amount of protein that we require. Dr. Giordano also made it clear that you must not be fanatical about your diet, and it is still essential that you enjoy your food and don’t miss out on social gatherings.

  • NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide)
  • Quercetin
  • Resveratrol
  • Berberine
  • Astragalus

Each of these molecules is designed to work in the cell, promoting longevity while working towards eliminating senescent cells. These molecules promote longevity through multiple cellular pathways, which we now know are essential in the deceleration of aging.
