It’s one of the oldest medicines in human history. Aurum Metallicum, the “Metal of Light”. Gold! Scientists can now unequivocally explain why the mystical metal has healing properties. Swedish and American researchers have found that gold has a regulatory effect on the human immune system in minuscule doses. In this Longevity interview, we review a regenerative patented therapy called GOLDIC®. Developed by Professor Ulrich Schneider, this gold-based technology uses the body’s regenerative properties to treat inflammation and cellular degeneration. Dr. Kevin Lotzof, Dr. Jacques Shipper, and Dr. Vivek Solanki explain.
The Power of Gold
Gold in regenerative medicine primarily involves the use of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) to enhance tissue repair and regeneration.
The nanoparticles are utilized in various ways, including as components of scaffolds for tissue engineering, as carriers for growth factors and drugs, and as modulators of cellular behavior and immune responses. - Anti-inflammatory: Inflammation is at the core of all chronic diseases, so combating it can be great for your health. Gold contains anti-inflammatory properties, and one study found that among patients with rheumatoid arthritis, gold salts decreased joint pain and swelling.
- Anti-aging: If you’re a beauty treatment aficionado, I’m sure you’ve come across gold face masks. In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, gold can also enhance moisture retention, resulting in a healthier and youthful appearance.
- Dental Health: Gold is commonly used in dental work, thanks to its malleability, durability, biocompatibility, longevity, and resistance to corrosion, thus making it a great option for fillings and crowns.
- Cancer treatment: A 2024 animal study revealed that a gold-based compound slowed tumor growth in animals by 82%.
Now, despite the benefits associated with gold, it can have adverse effects on the body, including dermatitis and even diarrhea. Indeed, one study concluded that the ‘toxic risks associated with gold are low considering the vast range of potential routes of exposure to the metal in everyday life.’ However, how GOLDIC ® is administered not only means more health benefits, but it also comes at a significantly reduced risk.
What is GOLDIC®?
Gold-based technologies are showing promising results in the field of cellular regeneration and longevity. One such therapy is a regenerative patented therapy called GOLDIC®. This stands for Gold-Induced Cytokines, and is a patented medical device technology that utilizes gold-coated particles to stimulate the body’s natural healing process.
How it works
Cytokines are a broad and loose category of small proteins that are important in cell signalling, regulating the growth and differentiation of cells. They play an important role in immunological reactions and inflammatory processes, thus stimulating the body‘s regeneration capacity.
A typical treatment starts with taking a sample of the patient’s venous blood, explains Dr. Jacques Shipper, who focuses on the business aspects of the product’s training and distribution.
“We take four vials of a patient’s blood and incubate them for 24 hours with a patented gold-coated substance-gold or a therolite.”
Shipper is a qualified medical doctor and the director of Medi-Four Medical Supplies. He adds that the blood is then prepared using the patented medical device GOLDIC® – SET, which includes the designed gold particles and a special filter to prevent the gold particles from being injected with the processed serum, later on.
Now, while some may compare GOLDIC® to Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), which uses your blood platelets to treat injuries or concerns, Dr. Shipper explains that it’s quite different.
“We’re not just concentrating platelets; we’re using gold particles to upregulate cytokines like Gel-Solin by 10 times, Colony-Stimulating Factor (CSF) by 300 times,” he says, adding that the therapy’s critical factors are upregulated to the point where they encourage stem cell migration from the bone marrow to the affected area, thus triggering real regeneration.

The serum concentrate obtained is subsequently injected. One treatment usually consists of four injections of the processed serum at an interval of 3-5 days.
The treatment is not something that can be done at home or bought off the shelf randomly. Again, it’s a medical device that allows the doctor to produce individualized medicine, and it’s under his direct technical responsibility to produce a patient-matched treatment for an individual application for a specific patient.
Patient Treatment Experience
Dr. Kevin Lotzof, an interventional radiologist with over twenty years of experience, with a particular interest in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) imaging and diagnosis, was initially introduced to GOLDIC® through a distributor in London, England. Through his research, he came across an equine study whereby horses with musculoskeletal problems that were treated with GOLDIC® experienced reduced lameness, joint effusion, and swelling in horses.
Too good to be true?
Regarding the application in humans, Dr. Lotzof admits his initial hesitation, believing GOLDIC®’s benefits as too good to be true. However, he soon changed his tune after he treated a 32-year-old professional footballer who had been experiencing severe issues with his knee tendon. After trying every possible treatment, aside from surgery, the footballer turned to GOLDIC® and within a few days, his pain disappeared, which was unusual. However, the real shock came a month later;
“The patient’s tendon healed 50% in just a month. He returned to playing football after five months. Four years later, he was still playing. I have never seen anything like it in my 27 years of practice.” – Dr. Kevin Lotzof
Not one to promote a treatment that he wouldn’t use on himself, Dr. Lotzof turned to the arthritis in his ankle, and five years later, he’s still ‘pain-free’,

Thanks to these incredible findings, Dr. Lotzof officially became involved with the technology, connecting with Dr. Shipper and Dr. Vivek Solanki, before becoming co-distributor of GOLDIC® in South Africa.
Life changing
For Dr. Vivek Solanki, a renowned medical doctor and entrepreneur, GOLDIC® has been ‘life-changing’ for his patients, having treated individuals with respiratory conditions by having GOLDIC® target the lungs directly through a combination of intravenous and inhalation therapy.
“I treated COPD patients who were on oxygen canisters 24/7 and couldn’t walk 200 meters without oxygen. After just two or three GOLDIC® sessions, they were climbing hills and resuming normal lives,” details Solanki, before comparing it to PRP, “It’s faster and more effective than PRP as PRP would take two to three weeks to see the improvements and you would have to do at least six sessions for them to be near normal.”

“We gave her GOLDIC® intrathecally (into the spinal fluid) to target the nervous system and combined it with physiotherapy and hyperbaric oxygen. After six weeks, she walked onto the flight home. It was just incredible.”
Elaborating more on GOLDIC®’s benefits, Dr. Lotzof shares that the treatment’s immunomodulatory effects may extend to autoimmune conditions and allergies.
“It shuts off the overdrive that causes autoimmunity, allergies, and post-viral syndromes like long COVID,” says Dr. Lotzof. He goes on to reference a 2021 study featuring hay fever patients who were treated with GOLDIC®, with 25% of the individuals requiring no medication during allergy season, and 50% experiencing a reduction in required medication.
While treating his ankle, Dr. Lotzof noticed that his cat allergy had more or less vanished, allowing him to touch cats without sneezing or wheezing. Furthermore, the chronic itching from a mosquito bite on his elbow had also disappeared.

“This is for the growing population that wants non-invasive solutions,” says Dr. Solanki, “We’re not saying this replaces surgery, but it can prevent or delay it, and help patients who have no other options.”
All That Glitters…
Despite how golden the benefits may seem, GOLDIC® still lacks large-scale randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Explains Dr. Lotzof, “It’s the product’s biggest weakness. While there are many self-referred trials, randomized controlled trials are expensive. We came close to starting one in London, but the product lost its CE mark.”
Nonetheless, he stands by the treatment, adding that over 15 years of practice, there have been no documented side effects, only good results.

Adding on to this is Dr. Solanki, supports GOLDIC® ‘s safety record. “You’re using your own blood, under sterile conditions,” he says, “It’s not a foreign substance. That’s what makes it so safe and unique.”
Going Global
“Doctors who try it love it. Those who haven’t tried it often dismiss it,” says Dr. Lotzof. Despite the skeptics, Dr. Shipper reveals that the treatment is getting people’s attention:
“We’re getting inquiries from doctors in Kazakhstan, Poland, India, Australia, UAE, and more,” he reveals, “The challenge has been that regulatory FDA approval is in progress. The product is undergoing MDR. certification in Europe and will soon be available in the United States.”
Dr. Shipper adds that interested medical practitioners will need to be assessed by the clinician, Dr. Solanki, who will then decide the best path forward for that patient.
