Eric Verdin
As CEO and President of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and an Adjunct Professor at the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, the University of Southern California, his lab studies the relationship between aging and the immune system. They study how immune aging is regulated through nutrition. They further utilize worms, mice, and human model systems to define how nutrients influence immune responses during aging. He obtained his BSc in Medical Sciences at the University of Liege in 1978, was a visiting student at Harvard Medical School in 1981, and obtained his MD in 1982 from the University of Liege.
