These rankings are based on research by Expertscape, a company that objectively ranks people and institutions by their expertise in more than 30,000 biomedical topics. According to their global longevity expert survey, Joris Deelen is ranked 41.

Joris Deelen
As a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Aging, her research group focuses on genetics and biomarkers of human aging. They aim to figure out why some people age more healthily than others. They investigate the effect of genetic variations that are unique to long-lived individuals on the functioning of pathways implicated in aging and age-related diseases. She obtained her BSc and MSc in Biochemical Sciences at Leiden University in 2006 and 2008, respectively. She then went on to obtain her Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology at the same university.
