This past Tuesday saw the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, following a six-year hiatus. Featuring a diverse and inclusive cast of models, which was considered innovative for the brand, the show welcomed back familiar faces that included Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid and Adriana Lima. Yet, the show also featured debuts, and one that stood out was Kate Moss, who made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut at 50.

Kate Moss: 8 Ways She Got Debut-Ready For Victoria’s Secret At 50

1. Green Juice in the Morning

What better way to start off your morning than with a glass of green juice?

Speaking to Vogue, the supermodel revealed that she starts off her day with a vitamin-rich green juice that also features an anti-aging supplement rich in nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids.

While she didn’t mention which ingredients she used, you can create your own green juice, with Suzy Karadsheh suggesting you blend kale, cucumber, parsley, ginger, celery, and granny smith apples.

2. Salad lover

If you want to achieve your five-a-day, there’s no better way than by enjoying a great salad. In a conversation with the Guardian, Moss admitted that she never really ate salad, but that changed once she decided to be more conscious about her eating habits.

A study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics concluded that incorporating vegetable-based salads into your diet may effectively increase nutrient intake and improve diet quality.

If you’re hoping to build a healthy salad, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada proposes that you feature leafy greens (romaine, arugula, kale, and spinach), whole grains (quinoa, brown rice and bulgur), and chopped or shredded vegetables such as cucumber, tomato, cabbage, and beets.

You can then include an array of vegetables and fruit before adding protein, which can include eggs, legumes, lean meat like chicken and turkey, or fish and seafood like salmon or shrimp.

Lastly, it’s not a salad without healthy fats, which is why the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada recommends that you include olive oil as a salad dressing (many commercial salad dressings are rich in calories and unhealthy fats), nuts, seeds, or avocado.

3. Grow your own vegetables

Per an article published in The Times, the former face of Coco Mademoiselle Chanel has taken up growing her own vegetables.

Not only is gardening a great stress reliever, but growing your own vegetables can do wonders for both your health and that of the planet. Aside from reducing carbon emissions, nurturing your own vegetable patch ensures that you consume produce that is fresher, and thus richer in nutrients.

4. Cut back on meat

While the parent of one admits that she doesn’t follow any particular diet, she also acknowledges that she’s cut back on her intake of meat.

Considering the effect that meat can have on one’s health, you may want to follow in her cover girl footsteps. With that, here are 11 incredible things that happen once you quit red meat.

5. Ashtanga yoga

An avid yogi, Moss revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that yoga has become a part of her everyday routine.

As for what type of yoga, the model revealed that she’s a fan of ashtanga flow, choosing to do it three times a week. This style of yoga focuses on calming the mind and building strength and flexibility.

Regardless of the style of yoga you pick, adopting the practice may improve predictors of longevity.

6. Reformer Pilates

In a conversation with The Times, Moss also shared that she does reformer Pilates. With the use of a machine, reformer Pilates creates a resistance workout that elongates your spine, and helps you build strength and stamina all while improving flexibility and posture.

7. Keep swimming

Per The Times, Moss regularly goes swimming, but she doesn’t do it in her backyard. Instead, the Calvin Klein model goes wild swimming “in a secret place, in the middle of lots of fields, and only the villagers are allowed to use it”

Regardless of where you decide to take a dip, swimming is a great way to cool down and boost your health. It increases lung strength, encourages weight loss, is low-impact and so safe for those with injuries, and it can even improve your sleep.

8. Transcendental Meditation

Meditation is an incredible tool, and it’s one that Moss appreciates, seeing it as a way to be “in herself”.

“I find taking these few moments to myself really helps me prepare for my day. I’ve had my struggles, as we all have, but anything that can support you [is good]. I’ve practiced and practiced and tried all different types [of meditation] for five years, and now I do a guided meditation. It’s about being able to stop and be in myself.”

The model revealed to The Times that her mornings feature a 10-minute transcendental meditation where she repeats affirmations,

“If you believe enough, the universe will deliver,” Moss said to Harper’s Bazaar.
