Dr. Stephen Ojiambo Wandera was a GloCal fellow in the 2019-2020 cohort. He is a gerontologist and a demographer whose research focuses on inequalities in health, social determinants of health, and access to healthcare among older persons in Uganda and sub-Saharan Africa.
He is both a Lecturer and the Chair of the Department of Population Studies at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Dr. Wandera’s responsibility and call is to serve humanity and the aging population by representing the discourse and the experiences of the African continent.
