Kylie Minogue is a pop legend who shot to fame with dance-pop classics like “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and “Love At First Sight”. Being the highest-selling female Australian artist of all time is no easy feat, and holding on to that title definitely requires a lot of patience and determination. At 53-years years old, Kylie Minogue tries her best to practice both, especially when it comes to her health and wellness.
Speaking to WSJ Magazine, the Grammy Award winner shared her health and wellness tips on how she stays dance-pop ready.
Kylie Minogue’s Dance Pop Pro-aging Health Secrets
An eggcellent breakfast
Eggs are an amazing breakfast option, and not just because they’re versatile. In addition to being high in protein, eggs can also improve your heart health, your brain health, and even your eyes. It’s no wonder Kylie Minogue knows how to spot a dance-pop hit.
Do you take vitamins? Well, Minogue admits that she’s not the best at staying on track with her vitamins, she does try to stick to them,
“Currently I’m trying to take spirulina, vitamin D, and silica.”
Spirulina is rich in antioxidants, and can also help protect your immune system. In fact, one study found that spirulina can encourage the production of white blood cells and antibodies that fight off viruses.
As for vitamin D? Well, we know that we get most of our vitamin D from the sun, but you’d be surprised at how common a vitamin D deficiency is, and supplementing with it can help to address this deficiency.
Lastly, there’s silica, which could be the secret behind Minogue’s flawless skin, as research has found that silica encourages the production of collagen in your body. As we know, collagen is a protein in the body that helps keep the skin supple, firm, and youthful-looking.
She’s a walker
“We say in my family, “Minogues don’t run.” None of us run. But we like to walk, so that works for me.”
If you’re not much of a runner, might we suggest walking instead? It’s a great health boost for your heart, your bones, and your weight. In addition to going out for a stroll, Minogue also enjoys Pilates, yoga, and even gyrotonics. That said, Minogue admits that her ultimate workout is being on tour.
Kylie dines and unwinds
For Minogue, her favorite way to relax is by eating with friends. Not only does eating with those close to you encourage healthier habits, but it can also strengthen your connections, which is vital for your longevity. In fact, strong personal connections are one of the principles of the pro aging Blue Zones.
Blue Zones are five areas that were virtually free of the disease and with numerous healthy residents that were living to age 100 and beyond. One of their principles encourages maintaining a strong social life. Following 2020 and lockdown regulations, we each know how connections are, as well as how detrimental solitude and isolation can be.
