Longevity Partner Content with Catrice: A blow-out that looks bouncy before your next wash. A perfect red lip that stays put through your lunch break. A crisp white shirt that remains crease-free throughout your meeting. And finally, a make-up look that stays fresh and luminous all day long. These are the things women need to last as long as we do! So often, we start the day with fresh, dewy skin, and leave the house with our favorite foundation perfectly applied. But by the time lunchtime swings by, it’s a different story. The foundation is flaking, creases are showing around the eyes, mouth, and forehead, and the fresh look from the morning has vanished. This is where the use of a good base layer or primer comes in.

If you want to lock your foundation or concealer in place and not worry about having to reapply or smooth the creases, you should consider adding this step to your make-up routine.

What are the powers of a good primer?

primer | Longevity LIVE

A primer is a tool that sets the stage for a polished make-up look. It functions by:

  • prepping the skin for the rest of your make-up
  • improving the lifespan of a day’s make-up application
  • creating a soft-focus effect on your face
  • smoothing out skin irregularities
  • minimizing the appearance of pore size
  • reducing the appearance of wrinkles
  • providing the skin with moisture and natural radiance
  • allowing for a more radiant complexion

On top of that, a good primer gives you more bang for your buck, because your foundation will last longer, thereby taking away the need to reapply it several times a day. It is especially useful when you’re dealing with long, busy days during which your make-up needs to last all day, and you have little chance to check your face during the day.

Who needs to get a primer?

Let’s say you have an important night out and you won’t have time to fix your face and make-up every few hours. You want a product that will ensure that you don’t need to stress about your look for the whole of your evening, and the way you look when you step out at the start of the evening is the same you’ll be looking when you take your make-up off.

If you face this situation often, a good-quality primer is what you’ll be needing. Not only will it keep your foundation and blush firmly in place until past midnight, but you’ll be sporting a fresh radiance and a soft-focus look that will look better in photos. Besides, you can rest assured that the dreaded caked make-up look won’t be making an appearance.

On the other hand, you don’t need the excuse of long days or nights to add this step to your routine, since many primers also allow for improved protection against environmental factors on top of the aesthetic benefits. In other words, it’s the step you didn’t know you needed!

A good primer is a make-up product for someone who wants to get the most out of their foundation and optimizes the time and effort she puts into her make-up looks. Whether you prefer a full face of make-up or a more natural look, this step just puts you ahead overall, allowing your foundation or BB cream to apply more smoothly. It can also help to prevent oily skin during the hotter parts of the year.

The Catrice primer does all of this and then some. In addition to helping the overall look of your make-up stay fresh longer, the TEN!SATIONAL 10 IN 1 DREAM PRIMER also has multi-protecting properties in one formula. While hydrating and providing the skin with a natural glow, the active ingredients lend this primer an anti-pollution and anti-oxidation effect. Its creamy, silky texture blends easily on the skin and helps dull skin to come alive again, while smoothing out the pores for a flawless look. If you want to use it as a subtle highlighter on top of your foundation, more power to you!

How does it work?

Step 1

After cleansing your skin, squeeze out a pea-sized amount of the product and apply it to your face with either your fingers or a clean make-up sponge.

Step 2

Blend it well and allow it a few moments before you apply your foundation, concealer or BB cream. Using a foundation brush, blend the foundation or cream on top of the primer, taking care to erase any lines around your neck and hairline.

Step 3

Finish your skin with blush, bronzer or highlighter.

Step 4

Enjoy the make-up look you’ve been waiting to try!
