Longevity has been published globally, in different formats, for more than three decades. Originally born in the USA, this trademarked multimedia content platform is the longest-published consumer-focused media resource reporting on the art and science of staying young. The world of longevity is expanding rapidly. And so is the opportunity for you to live your healthiest and longest life yet.

About our World of Longevity

When I lost my mother to cancer in my teens, I began thinking of my mortality.  I just wanted to beat the odds. But when I began working on this brand called Longevity, more than two decades ago, my views changed. I became immersed in a world that was full of infinite opportunities, knowing that I could live better and longer than most. Longevity has helped me to meet inspiring people and exposed me to remarkable ideas and the science around longevity.

Longevity escape velocity

I believe the potential for an extraordinary lifespan is more attainable than ever before. Today, as I update this page, many scientists are thinking that by using anti-aging drugs, through innovative research in the field of biology, and with the help of AI, humans can live for thousands of years, even more. That we’ll be able to live forever.

Futurist Raymond Kurzweil, co-founder of Singularity University, and Aubrey de Grey, a leading biomedical gerontologist, both believe we’re getting closer to Longevity Escape Velocity

This isn’t sci-fi. Science is adding around three months to our lifespan every year. More studies confirm we’re reaching scientific breakthroughs that’ll extend our lifespan by more than a year for every year we remain alive. Once that happens, scientists say we’ll have reached Longevity Escape Velocity.

Experts in the field of longevity are suggesting that anyone in reasonably good shape today will have access to Longevity Escape Velocity by the end of 2030.

Longevity reading magazines over three decades of publishingOur brand roots

Longevity was launched as a print edition in the US in 1989, by Kathy Keeton. Kathy was born and raised on a farm in South Africa, and met her partner Bob Guccione in London.

They moved to the US, where she helped him to build a multimillion-dollar business empire. Appointed president and chief operating officer of General Media Communications Inc, she founded the magazines Viva (1973), Omni (1978) and Longevity (1989). She also wrote two non-fiction books, Woman of Tomorrow (1986) and Longevity: The Science of Staying Young (1992).

Kathy had a passion for longevity, and for ensuring that anyone, at any stage of life, would have the opportunity to change their lifestyle and enjoy a happier, longer life.

Longevity continues to be published according to the founding principles.

“It doesn’t matter if you are 18, 28, 48 or 80, the earlier you start redesigning your lifestyle the longer in better health you will live.” Kathy Keaton.
