The dreams of three kids’ came true, thanks to Reach for a Dream and Wimpy, recently when they got to meet their favourite Muvhango stars in person.
Reach for a Dream is a non-governmental organisation that has been making extremely ill children’s dreams come true for the past 25 years. Children between the ages of 3 & 18 have used their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, leukaemia, cystic fybrosis, muscular dystrophy, renal failure and various blood disorders. The aim of the Reach for a Dream Foundation is to alleviate the strain that a life-threatening illness places on these children, as well as their families, by providing them with an opportunity to realise their dreams, whatever these may be.
Karabo (15), Realeboha (12) and Kamogelo (13) could hardly contain their excitement when they were told they would be able to not only meet, but some spend time with the cast from Muvhango. Sindi Dlathu, who plays Thandaza in the popular TV soapie, was on set to welcome Karabo, Realeboha and Kamogelo and to give them a tour of the set. The three excited kids were then taken to the makeup room where they had a mini-makeover . After the set-visit, the kids were treated to a fun lunch at Wimpy Campus Square.
Wimpy is proud to have once again been able to help in making a difference in the lives of South Africa’s terminally ill “Dream Children”. Reach For A Dream is a South African foundation, with seven branches across the country, and prides itself on the countless children who have benefitted through the generous support of companies such as Wimpy.
